Byebye Ireland and Hello Switzerland

Time goes by sooo quickly. So here I am back at home in Madrid after this great year in Dublin.
Now i'm moving to Geneva, Switzerland cos i've got an IT job in one of the United Nations Organizations.

What else can i say, i think yous already know whats my opinion about Ireland.

I was very sad the 30th of september when i was leaving Dublin... couldnt help crying a little, everything was too overwhelming: Changing my life from one day to another and face new challanges. Leaving so much people and memories behind.. gosh i dont wanna cry again!! haha
Besides, the night before i had a great going away party and the hungover was KILLING ME. Well, i was actually glad that i was leaving next day cos the place was SUCH A MESS in the morning...
I had so many people at home: Rosey, Christine, Roisin, Griff, Sean, Maria, Robbie C, Peter, Brian, Emily, Dave, Paul, Mark, Jim, sorry lads if im forgetting any of yous.. Rosey made the best Banoffee cake ever!! YUUM!! They gave me a huge lovely card wishing me luck in Geneva.

By the way, before i left I got maaany pressies :)
- Maria invited me to a Tapas restaurant in town called Salamanca.
- She also gave me a card and a very cute frame with a teddy bear
- She also gave me 100 swiss franqs!! Thank you!!
- Mary C. gave me a lovely Belleek vase and a card.
- Rosey did the cake and she also bought me a bottle of Moet Chandon.
- Robbie gave me a huge teddy bear called Bobert and a card
- At the office Begoña gave me a nice and very warm hat
- Monica gave me a cute keychain and candy.
- Olena gave me a watch

Thank god Cris and Patricio came to Ireland that weekend to help me with the bags cos i would have been seriously fucked up if they werent helping me haha

So Ana, Cris, Patricio and I left Ireland and at least, back at home i had a great Omelade made by me ma waiting to be eaten...

So now i'm here meeting all my friends before i leave Madrid again.
I'm glad cos Maria will be over the 21 of this month, the day after a huge party that the rest of the interns are having.... it's gona be DEADLY.

The start of the the beggining of the end of this ---course---- in my life: "Chelo Becaria ICEX".
September. Just about finishing this internship. And as many of my mates, i dont have a clue of what the hell will i be doing from october. I can't picture myself in 1 year: Where will i be? What will i be doing?
The only think i want to make sure is that whatever i do or wherever i go, im as happy as im now: This year is being a great one. I will always remember it with a huge smile. And hopefully, so will i the rest of the next years of my life!!

Maria and I recently move to an appartment in Upper Rathmines, quite close from where we used to live. It's not as cosy as our old appartment. We dont have a backyard or the fireplace. But my room is way bigger and we both have our own bathrooms. The building was built just 2 years ago so its really nice.
I pay 650eur/month for a double bedroom ensuite. We have a huge kitchen with dishwasher -thank god for that as well!- and a huge fridge. Wonder if ill ever be arsed to post some pictures..

Hi again!

Its been ages since last time i wrote here.

I've been kinda busy with my new online shop http://www.anitadiminuta.com/ and i've been studing as well for a job that i applied in the European Comission... But i got the date wrong for the exam and all that i studied was absolutely useless. When i got to the examination center and they said that i had got the date wrong, i couldnt be looking more stupid.

Maria and I moved to a new appartment and i cant connect to the internet from home anymore.

About my trips, during this last months i've been to Cork, Scotland, Italy and Berlin.

Mercedes, Raquel, Marina and Esther came over to Ireland and we went to Cork with Ana and Cris. Tono and Javi came as well so my place was full of people at the same time, but it was great. Suddenly there was a party in my place with more than 15 Spanish people in... Happy days!

The trip to Scotland was the quickest ever:
Saturday morning i go to the airport and arrive to Glasgow, where Ana and Cris were waiting for me -they went the night before- and we saw Glasgow, ride the Tourist Bus and at 3.30 we went to Aberdeen -3 hours away- Where Cris has a friend called Callum. We had a lovely dinner made by Callum and everybody went out to these old churches that nowadays are used as pubs. But i was really tired for waking up so early so i stayed in Callums place.

Next day we went to see some castles and we had lunch by the sea. After that we took the bus back to Glasgow, where we spent some time and then we got back to Dublin.

I came back to Guerri's place in Italy was absolutely mad, the interns from Brussels, Milan, Prague, Athens, Bern, Stocolm, Paris, Moscow, Dublin and Warsaw -of course, as we went to his place!- and as well Castigador Albacete. It was a lot of fun. And Tiziana and Rino, Guerris parents, took care of us so well, i miss you!!!!

Turisticos..

Some of us got to the Milan airports which are around 3 hours away by car, because Guerris place is close to Treviso. There was a great party in their place and next day we went to Venice and in the night we went to a cool club. It's weid the way things work in italian clubs: they give you this card that YOU CAN NOT MISS because whenever you have a drink they take it from the card, and in the card there are like 12 drinks, so if you would miss the card, you would have to pay around 80 eur? im not sure, but would really suck..

And last trip was to Berlin. It was absolutely amazing, we all falled in love with this city.

In 2 months i'll be back to Spain and i still dont have a clue of what i'm gona be doing...

Viaje a Jordania

Woooow, vaya viaje.
El martes día 3 de abril Cris y yo nos encontramos en el aeropuerto de Frankfurt. Mi sister había decidido el día anterior que se venía de viaje.
Llegamos a Ammán de madrugada. En el aeropuerto nos vinieron a buscar desde el Hotel.
Flipamos en colorines cuando por la carretera veíamos cientos de edificios a medio construir y todos los carteles que vimos estaban escritos en árabe. :-O
A la mañana siguiente fuimos a dar un voltio por Amman. Casi todas las mujeres llevaban la cabeza tapada. Fuimos a ver el teatro romano y allí nos encontramos a el becario de comercio de Sofía. Luego subimos a la ciudadela. Todos los coches nos pitaban por eso de ir en vaqueros y sin taparnos la cabeza, eran unos cansinos. Todo el mundo nos decía Welcome welcome!! Muy majos. A la hora de comer no encontrábamos ningún restaurante. Finalmente vimos un minirestaurante con una mesa y una silla donde nos tomamos unos ricos falafeles con unos ricos tes :-) Cris y yo comimos por el módico precio de 1'03 dinares (1.10 euros) las dos.
Luego fuimos a ver tiendicas. Entramos en una en la que nos querían dar de comer otra vez, de hecho casi nos obligaron a probar la comida -muy rica- Los chicos de la tienda eran muy majos y muyy monos jejeje así que nos quedamos bastante tiempo hablando con ellos.
Luego fuimos al hotel porque Julia y los demás becarios de Estambul acababan de llegar: Ute, Ana, Horacio y Arantxa.
Por la noche fuimos a cenar. Por unos 4 euros cada uno nos pusimos las botas en un bonito restaurante.
En la madrugada llegaron Javi, Gorka y Patri.
Al día siguiente contratamos una furgo con chofer que nos llevó por el norte de Jordania. Muy bonito. Muchísimas ruinas. Una maravilla. Fuimos a Jerash y por la tarde a Umm Quays donde había unas ruinas en medio del campo. Está en la frontera con Siria e Israel y río Tiberias. Un sitio muyyy bonito.
A la mañana siguiente partimos hacia el sur.
Llegamos al mar muerto y nos metimos en un resort pq las "playas" públicas eran bastante malas y solo había hombres, lo que por lo menos a mí me incomodaba bastante. Las mujeres jordanas se bañaban en el mar vestidas. Yo al principio andaba mosqueada porque no flotaba!! .. tan gorda estoy? ¿mis concentraciones de grasas son tan concentradas?? jaj

pero al final si se flota :D mola mucho! Lo malo es si se te mete una gotita de agua en el ojo. Es como si te meten ácidooooo qué dolor!! Es increíble cómo escuece.
Al salir del agua nos embadurnamos de barro. Es azul oscuro, mola un montón. Aquí os pongo una fotito jejeje. Luego para quitarnos el barro lo flipamos... Se endureció y no se iba. Tras pasar una tarde muy diver partimos hacia la ciudad de Aqaba. En medio de la carretera decidimos parar los 2 coches para sacarnos fotos.. con una señal de tráfico de peligro camellos jejeje
Era tarde, sobre las 11 o así, y una furgoneta que pasaba en dirección contraria dio la vuelta para ver si teníamos algún problema. Qué majos. Y nosotros diciendo... no hay problema.. que queríamos sacarnos una fotico aquí en medio... -problem yoc!!- jaja
El recorrido que hicimos bajando el mar muerto pasamos por alrededor de 6 controles policiales. Los polis muy majos, pero tenían unas metralletas impresionantes. Incluso tenían una especie de 4x4 con un tío dentro desde donde podía disparar una especie de metralleta gigantesca..
Llegamos a Aqaba, una ciudad que no tenía nada que ver con lo que habíamos visto hasta entonces: Sobre el mar rojo, una ciudad super moderna, más mujeres sin la cabeza tapada, muy europea.
Llegamos a nuestro hotel, el BEDOUIN GARDEN, donde a pesar de que Gorka reservó y pagó adelanto, dijeron que no les quedaban más habitaciones libres. Muy majos y muy todo, pero unos desorganizados... Total, que tuvimos que dormir un una Haima al lado de un beduino borracho y unos americanos, que empezaron a pelearse con el Beduino en medio de la noche y vaya show montaron: Julia y yo, que dormíamos dentro de una tienda en la Haima, pensábamos que iban a liarse a tiros. Qué miedo pasamos, ahora nos reímos pero en el momento lo pasamos fatal.
La mañana siguiente la pasamos en el Mar Rojo haciendo snorkling. Alucinamos en colores, estaba lleno de pececitos, esponjas, herizos con pinchos de 20cm... En un momento dado empezó a aparecer en medio de la playa los 4x 4 con la mega metralleta y muchos barcos diciendo que saliésemos del agua: Resulta que el rey de Jordania se encontraba buceando al lado nuestra... Esque le dimos envidia.

Luego fuimos a comer a Aqaba. La verdad es que yo me sentía como en una ciudad española. Por la noche fuimos al desierto de Wadi Rum -pasando algo de miedo por el camino, con los rezos de la radio y alguna carretera a oscuras y sin arcenes ni lineas ni nada de nada..- Cuando llegábamos a nuestro campamento, vimos a.. JABIBI!!!!!! que asustadiza por el coche corría y corría.. El campamento Captain creo que era el nombre, se encontraba entre dos montañas. Había muchas haimas -eso sí, DE PELO DE CAMELLO- cada una tenía dos camas. El suelo era arena y la pared era la montaña. Tras una fogata, unas cachimbas y unas bebidas, Dormimos genial.

A la mañana siguiente, 6.00am, subimos la montaña para ver amanecer. Muyyy bonito pero yo vi a Habibi abajo y fui a molestarla :D
Los beduinos me dijeron que Habibi no tenía nombre así que les dije que se llamaba Habibi :D Luego montamos en camello y subimos a más montañas donde había dibujos e inscripciones que los beduinos habían hecho hacía muuuchos años. El viaje al desierto fue lo que más me gustó. Los beduinos son guays :D

El mismo día fuimos a Petra, VAYA PALIZÓN nos metimos entre los caminos perdidos y escondidos... No me quiero ni acordar. La verdad es que el sitio es impresionante. Hubo una época en la que vivían miles de personas, pero hoy en día es una necrópolis -que buen rollo-. Existen muchos edificios excavados en las montañas. Está todo lleno de tumbas por todas partes. Entramos en los agujeros, pero como era de esperar no hay ningún cuerpo...
Por la tarde tras estar caminando y caminando durante todo el día, en la salida de Petra nos volvimos a encontrar al becario de Sofía! Dios miiio que coincidencia jejej. Volvimos a Amman y al día siguiente Cris Julia y yo nos dedicamos a ser guiris :D Por la noche fuimos a coger el avion. Me separé de Cris en Frankfurt y fui directamente a la oficina. vaaaya paliza! Pero mereció la pena. ¡¡¡Lo pasamos genial!!!

St. Paddys Day

El día 17 de marzo es San Patricio, Patrón de Irlanda.
Dublín se llenó de turistas. Había tantos como habitantes.
Para esta fiestecilla vinieron Julia desde Estambul, Iván de Milán y su amigo, los becarios de La Haya, Paco de Estocolmo y mi sister desde Madrid.
Lo pasamos muy bien aunque la verdad es que la fiesta no fue tan salvaje como esperábamos. Un rollo muy familiar.
Era el típico "craic" de fin de semana, pero todo más lleno.

Cris, Ana y yo fuimos a por nuestras respectivas ropas verdes a Penneys, la tienda baratísima que tenemos aquí, ya que para San Patricio, hay que llevar puesto algo verde.
No tuve el placer de probar la cerveza verde, ¿realmente alguien la ha visto?

Finde relámpago en Madrid

El finde del 9 de marzo María y yo fuimos a Madrid.
Era la primera vez que María venía, así que estaba muy ilusionada.
Llegamos sobre las 10.00pm. Desde el aeropuerto a casa conduje el coche de mi sister Cris. Quería comprobar que no se me ha olvidado conducir.. :)
Llegamos a casa donde mi mami y mi papi nos esperaban.

Mi mami hizo una mega cena y se me caían las lágrimas de la emoción...
A la mañana siguiente fui a gestionar unos temas y a la pelu, ya que en Madrid me cuesta 95 euros, mientras que en Dublín son 160 eurazos la visita.
Mientras, Cris y María estuvieron de compras por Fuencarral. Me reuní con ellas y dimos una vuelta por la ciudad. Por la noche María y yo quedamos con mis amigos. Vinieron Mercedes, Raquel, Alicia, Ibra, Pili, Cebo y Marinita. Lo pasamos guay, fuimos a las cuevas del sésamo -POR FIN! QUE MITICO! - Me encantó, tenía muchas ganas de ir. Y más tarde fuimos a Locua.
Sobre las 2.30 volvimos a casa porque queríamos aprovechar el domingo ya que nuestro avión salía a las 2.00
El domingo por la noche habíamos quedado con mis queridíssssimas Carmen y Nuri en la Latina, lo siento chicas, que no llegamos a tiempo, ya que bajamos al tramo de la M30 que es UN INFIERNO, nos saltamos la salida que peor no podría haber estado señalizada, y no hubo otra salida en 10 minutos. Como era tarde y teníamos que coger el avión, no nos dio tiempo a vernos :'( Os compensaré. VENIR A VERME, MONINAS!!
El caso es que tuvimos que abortar el plan y fuimos directas al aeropuerto...
Qué finde tan corto!
Encima, mi mami me hizo riquísimas comiditas y los días siguientes que me comía las cositas me daban ganas de llorar pensando en mi mami... jeje
Es raro, pero el finde despues de estar en Madrid estaba muy triste porque echaba muchísimo de menos a mi madre. Y nunca me había sentido así desde que estoy aquí.
Pero ya estoy mejor, pienso que en cuanto quiera me vuelvo otro finde y la veo.
Además, esto no me pasa ni con mi padre ni con mis hermanas, "it's a mom thing"...
